Our project
“Entrepreneurship in Video Games for Good” is an educational project funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. It means that 5 organisations in Europe decided to work together to create free resources to support young people (and the young at heart) in creating their own video games as social entrepreneurship projects.
What is interesting for you is that all the resources of the project will be free and available in English, Czech, French, Italian, and Latvian.
You read that right: we are offering a free course in video game creation and social entrepreneurship with no hidden costs. So feel free to give the course a try! It will be released in summer 2025.
Who is this project for?
This project has 2 main target groups:
Youth (16-30)
Any person interested in video game creation can be interested in our course and resources. Our specific target is youth interested in creating video games as a social entrepreneurship project, to make the world a better place, one video game at a time.
Educators and youth organisations
We offer ready-to-use resources for educators to support youth in developing their skills in social entrepreneurship and key competencies, by creating video game projects for good.
If you don’t fit in these categories but are just curious: you are also welcome!
Note on inclusion: We aim to provide learning resources adapted to the needs of learners with Specific Learning Disorders. We also strive not to reproduce negative stereotypes in our material, so that as many people feel encouraged to take our course. If you find any issues related to inclusion in our website or in our resources, please share your feedback through our feedback form!
Our pillars
- Video games: offer interactive and immersive experiences that allow to express not only the creators’ artistic intent, but also to convey ideas to the player in an engaging way. It is also a sector that makes many young adults dream, so we would like to take them closer to realising that dream.
- For good: Every video game, as they are cultural mediums, conveys an idea about our world. Even games that are not “serious games” or educational games can offer narratives and game mechanics that make the players think about their actions in the real world, for instance regarding how our societies work, or about our relationship with our environment. In that sense, we propose that creating video games can be a way to change our world for the better.
- Entrepreneurship: while entrepreneurship skills are beneficiary in all sectors and in all areas of professional life, it is necessary to train youth to the specifics of entrepreneurship in video games. Both the creation, management and follow-up of video game projects and even of a creating a studio come with specific challenges that those who embark on this journey must be prepared for.
Our resources
📘 The short guide on video game creation and social entrepreneurship will introduce the key concept of our project to educators.
📝 The activities and workshops will be designed for youth trainers who are looking for practical activities to implement with their learners. They will lead the learners to simulate the creation of their very own video game project and studio.
🚀 The online course covers how to get in the social entrepreneurship mindset, as well as how to create an inclusive video game.
⚙️ The toolsheets will contain practical applications of the theory developed in the other results: online tools to help the learners create their first games, ways to measure the environmental impact, etc.
📙 The implementation guide will be written after the tests within the project: all partners will share best practices with other educators and expand the impact of the project.
